Personal Data Processing

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – “GDPR”) and Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on the Processing of Personal Data.

What Data is Processed?

The Controller processes personal data necessary for the proper provision of offered services, in particular:

  • first name and surname,
  • likeness (photo, video),
  • e-mail address,
  • residential/registered address,
  • delivery address for samples,
  • IP address,
  • date and time of access to the user section,
  • browser information,
  • operating system information,
  • language settings,
  • behavior on the Controller’s website.

Purpose of Processing

The Controller processes personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Performance of a contract – provision of services (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  2. Legitimate interest of the Controller – especially the exercise of rights and claims arising from the contractual relationship with you as the client (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  3. Compliance with legal obligations imposed by applicable law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

The Controller processes personal data in connection with the consumer’s participation in the acceptance survey of dog treats made from cultivated meat, organized by the Controller, and in connection with a competition the consumer may choose to enter.

Data Retention

Personal data are processed only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes of processing:

  • Contract performance: for the entire duration of the contractual relationship.
  • Legal obligations: for the period required by Czech or EU law, typically five (5) or ten (10) years.
  • Legitimate interest: for the duration of rights and obligations arising from the contractual relationship, including after the end of service provision, typically for a limitation period of three (3) years.

Who Processes the Data?

Personal data are processed by the Controller. They may also be disclosed to:

  • employees of the Controller,
  • cooperating persons (e.g. auditors, lawyers, tax advisors – all bound by confidentiality),
  • companies within the BTL Group.

Cloud Services

If you store information considered personal data within cloud services provided by the Controller, you will act as the data controller, and we will act as the processor. In such cases, we as the Processor undertake to:

  • process data only in compliance with GDPR and your instructions,
  • implement appropriate technical and organizational measures,
  • ensure confidentiality, prevent unauthorized access, and secure systems against cyberattacks,
  • notify you in writing within 24 hours of any actual or threatened data breach,
  • provide necessary cooperation in handling data subject requests,
  • enable reasonable audits or inspections,
  • not examine or actively review uploaded data beyond what is required for service provision.

A separate Data Processing Agreement under Art. 28 GDPR may be concluded if special protection is required.

Your Rights

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

  • Access to your personal data,
  • Rectification or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data,
  • Erasure (“right to be forgotten”),
  • Restriction of processing,
  • Data portability,
  • Objection to processing, including direct marketing,
  • Not to be subject to automated decision-making or profiling,
  • Lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (www.uoou.gov.cz) or seek judicial remedy.
